FICHU began with a treasure
The remarkable archive of Berlin fabric dealer Oleg Ilyapour – decades of collecting natural fibres from around the world, all in one place. Today, costume designer Barbara Kurth keeps this legacy alive in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland, and now online.
Every piece in our shop is an original. No reprints, no synthetics. Just cotton, silk, wool, linen and lace – the real thing, waiting for the right hands.
Our fabrics
The collection consists exclusively of original, untreated vintage fabrics from various eras and fashion trends – ranging from the early 20th century to the early 1970s.
The fabrics are made from high-quality natural fibres such as cotton, nettle, hemp, linen and ramie, as well as wool – including alpaca, angora, camel hair and cashmere – and a wide variety of silks.
Fabric is sold by the metre from 0.5 m in steps of 0.1 m – and every fabric has a sample card.
